Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 26, 2026

At Weave ("we," "our," or "us"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our Version Control System, platform, CLI tools, and services (collectively, the "Services").

1. Information We Collect

a. Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials (via providers like GitHub or Google).

b. Codebase Data

To provide our core services—including impact analysis, semantic search, and AI-driven insights—we process and index your source code. This includes:

  • File Content: Source code files uploaded or synced via the Weave CLI.
  • Metadata: Commit history, workstream structures, and symbol dependencies.
  • Vector Embeddings: We generate numerical representations (vectors) of your code to enable semantic search. These are stored securely in our vector database.

c. Usage Data

We collect telemetry data on how you interact with our CLI and Platform, such as command usage, error logs, and performance metrics, to improve system reliability.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Weave platform.
  • Perform AST analysis and impact prediction on your code.
  • Generate AI-assisted code suggestions and summaries.
  • Authenticate your identity and secure your account.
  • Communicate with you regarding updates, security alerts, and support.

3. AI & Third-Party Processing

Weave utilizes advanced AI models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini) to power features like semantic search and automated refactoring. When you use these features:

  • Data Transmission: Relevant code snippets may be sent to these third-party AI providers for processing.
  • No Training: We explicitly configure our API usage to opt-out of having your code used to train public foundation models, ensuring your intellectual property remains private.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect your code and personal data. Access to your codebase is strictly limited to your authorized team members and our automated systems required to provide the service.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information and codebase data. You can delete your account and associated repositories at any time via the platform settings.

6. Contact Us
